The philosophers can go debate justice until the sun burns to embers, for I am blessed by God and will bring calamity down on all who oppose me.

Holy Wrath is a deadly and decadently expensive win condition with a very unique trick - it gives you a magic, then attacks once for each point in your magic pool. In exchange for the monstrous amount of attacks this can put out, Holy Wrath is in the running for most expensive card in the game, along Inquisitor and Wagon Bomb, all vicious win conditions in their own right. Wrath competes directly with Inquisitor, and trades ally status for action while not depleting your resource pools on use; it doesn't care about your enemy's board control, as Inquisitor does, but in exchange Wrath demands careful resource management instead, and suffers against denial decks tremendously.

First and foremost, saving up for Wrath at game start without acceleration will take three to four turns; it demands a gold engine just to get into play, whether your choice be Loan, Usury, Patron, or Banker. Once bought, it will command your offense singlehandedly, and so your attention should be on first banking magic to fuel it through Prayer, Supplicant, and Devotion, and then on drawing it as frequently as possible. Cycling cards like Prayer and Spice Routes aid here, as will allies that die swiftly, such as Serf and Militia. Scrolls, of course, is a premiere tutor engine, and should always have a slot in any Wrath deck.

Because of its extreme cost and offense, Wrath works best with Ysadora and Pocchi. Ysa can heal mountains of health with repeated casts of Wrath, fueling outrageous comebacks, while Pocchi accelerates into it better than she does but cannot completely ignore the enemy's offense as she can once Wrath starts coming down. Listrata is better with Inquisitor, and Sofocatro handles board control with skulls rather than magic.

Wrath is extravagantly expensive, as previously noted, and against denial decks it flops hard; you'll struggle to even purchase it, and picking at your magic count will blunt the offense it can put out even after Wrath comes online. If the enemy sports Brigands, Starving Mob, Rats, or Bureaucrat, prepare for a painful game.
