Boar Unguent serves as both ready-made fuel for magic-based Daramek decks and an eventual win condition, producing hordes of Boars to clog the field and wear down the enemy with attacks. The key is the magic feed - it turns Unguent into a free Mogesh sac, or a pile of gold and attacks depending on how many Sacred Tortoises and Boar Idols you have out. Stocking a boar and activating them serves as a damage clock for the opponent when you have the economy in place to buy and keep the Boars on the field. Minus these tools, all Unguent does is give you a life and clog your bank.

Mogesh is the primary Unguent lover, who both wants Boars to sac and uses the magic to sac them. It also synergizes heavily with Sacred Tortoise and Boar Idol, who turn magic into more resources. It also should go without saying that Unguent works with Boars, since it actually produces them on use.

Buying Unguents too early can clog your bank with Boars, which are both expensive and slow by Daramek standards. It needs the other pieces of its combos in play to function, but is so cheap that it's easy to buy first. Learning when to bring in the Unguent and play it is an art for the Daramek player.
