Of course all are beloved, both pauper and lord. Holy favor simply gazes more fondly upon gold, just as a flower follows the sun.

–Cardinal Nicchi

One of the ally-count actions, Tithe costs one more than Fief for a variable output depending on how many allies you've got on the board, so it quite naturally needs a large amount of them to pay back its value. Low-cost ones that can be bought easily are ideal, like Militia, Serf, and the various 4-cost producers (Patron/Courtesan/Vintner).

Additionally, since Tithe produces gold, it behooves the player to have some way to invest it, since gold cannot naturally affect the board state. Synod will both give you more bank stock to buy and likely a higher count of allies to draw from, and Vintner will translate gold to food at a 2:1 ratio, which while inefficient is easily the most accessible option. Merchant's Guild and Bounty are both high-end investments that give much greater rewards, but have equivalent costs; your deck must be set up for economy ramp if you intend to use these options.

It's also worth noting that coins that produce allies, such as the Graveline, Wergeld Sax, and Fecund Charm, will also add a coin to the output of ally-count cards, and thus combo naturally. Graveline gets a special mention, as the Fire Ships it produces stay in your deck and draw on play, producing a steadily-accessible body that also counts as a win condition, given time. A deck full of Gravelines is a beautiful setup for Tithe.
