There is no yoke I cannot shatter, nor chain I cannot snap. Only the mighty are free.

Bloodlust is a single-target kill effect; you pick an ally on the field when you play it, and regardless of how much intercept is in the way, or how much health it has, Bloodlust kills it stone dead.

It has a particular niche as a wallbreaker against Vespitole and Endazu, who both like to stack walls of health in front of more vulnerable, dangerous allies. Also, because of its single target nature, Bloodlust likes supporting attacks to clean up after it breaks through any walls in the way.

For all of its power, Bloodlust suffers from three critical problems. It can easily get a player killed by counter effect if sufficient amounts of it are out; swinging into a Knight, a Frame, or a Twilight Curtain is a good way to lose a fat chunk of health. It strictly targets allies, meaning it that against decks without allies it's a dead draw, and if they only have numerous weak ones - such as you'd find in a Vespitole rush deck, or a Daramek slave swarm - Bloodlust's effects will be minimal. Lastly, it's a very dangerous card to have multiples of in your deck, as it not actually advance you towards victory; a handful of Bloodlusts is a turn in which you accomplished nothing productive towards victory, only reduced the enemy's board presence. For all of its offensive potential, Bloodlust can easily serve as a loss of tempo as a result.
