Synod is a bank filter; it adds another restock per turn while active. This lets you fill out your deck with useful tools at twice the speed, while also making it more likely to hit key cards that you might be missing. Any Vespitole economy ramp build strongly benefits from this card's support, as it means they can reinvest gold into purchasing more cards, rather than having it sit in hand.

It works best with cheaper cards, and particularly the Vespitole producer allies, who activate every turn and provide more reliable income than cycling actions. Usury's steady stream of gold will also make it much easier to buy the restocks as they come.

Synod suffers in non-ramp decks, as it's seven gold base for no immediate benefit whatsoever, which is not a trivial investment. Combo decks (such as Wrath) with only one kill card also face the danger of Synod shuffling their win condition through the bank before they can buy it.
